Welcome, Creative YOU!
I’m so glad you’re here.
You know, some people think you either have creativity or you don’t; that you’re born with it – or you aren’t.
I believe we’re all wired for working creatively with our hands and minds in some way or another. And just as exercised muscles will strengthen and grow, exercised creativity will too.
You’ve got it in you. It may be strong or it may need some exercising – but it’s there!
A Humble Beginning
After a lifetime of playing around with all kinds of projects and crafts, I caught the blogging bug in 2013 and launched To Work with My Hands with the desire to encourage and inspire other Creatives.
As most blogs do, To Work with My Hands has grown and changed since that first little post was published. Starting from scratch and knowing very little about how it all worked, I’ve even found the actual process of blogging to be a thrilling (and often challenging) creative process within itself.
I’ve spent a lot of time online since the blog launched and there’s one thing I’m convinced of: Everyone is busy!
Investing in creativity is easy to push aside when there’s so many other things on the calendar and schedule.
But for most of us there’s a deep sense of satisfaction and even soul-feeding that comes from taking raw materials and making something new, useful, and beautiful.
It’s an important part of personal growth, yet we easily set it aside because we don’t think we have enough time. Finding time for creativity in the midst of a busy life is a necessary part of who we are!
The good news is that with a little effort, you can find time for creative pursuits and To Work with My Hands is designed specifically for the Time Crunched Creative. In fact, there’s an entire category of projects that can be completed in one hour or less, and everything you find on the blog fits the Pocket Time method.
I’m a mom of 8 (four adults, two teenagers, an 11 year old, and a sweet little 9 year old – who also happens to be our only girl), and I live Time-Crunched! I totally get how challenging it can be to find time for creative pursuits, but I’ve found a way that works and can work for you too – no matter how busy you are:
